Fireman Helmet Grooms Cake

I did this grooms cake for a firefighter that works with my husband. I am doing their wedd. cake for tomorrow, but he just called us after the rehearsal dinner and said the helmet was fantastic and that it actually brought a few guys to tears remembering a fellow firefighter they lost this year. That was an amazing feeling to be part of that:)

hey my cousin is doing a fire helmet for a groom's cake and we have been trying to find out how to do it .... and urs looks fantastic what kind of pans did u use

thanks, the pans I used were actually incorrect sizes and I had trouble with shaping it, had to put more buttercream on than needed and it bunched in places in the back, I will use either a 10 or 12 in. next time and carve the sides down since their hat is not comp. oval but sort of round with straight sides.
