Bride To Be Wonder Mold Cake
This is my first Wonder Mold Doll Cake. I actually wanted to press "lace" into the fondant by rolling a doily over it before applying to the cake, but had to abandon that idea when it didn't work. I made a train for it as well, with leftover fondant. (see next pic)
Very pretty :) Great job with the draping/pleats in the dress :)
incredible beatyfull
Very pretty
Very pretty indeed.... Excellent job!!!
When you say jumbo sugar crystals do you mean coarse large grained rock sugar or a larger sanding sugar?
I guess the coarse large grained. I was visiting family in Canada when I made this. I bought the sugar at a place called "Bulk Barn". I'm pretty sure they had the word "crystals" in their description of the sugar (comes in a bunch of different colors too). Maybe a grocery store with bulk items would carry it here in the US?
I lightly wet it with a damp brush, then just let the sugar slide down the dress. I did lose a few sugar crystals on the drive over to the location of the shower, but nothing major :)
You did a great job! How did you apply the sugar to the train of the dress?
this is the best doll cake I have ever seen
Thank you for your comments! I really appreciate it :)
Beautiful! What did you use for the bodice? Is it plain sugar?
I used large sugar crystals (coarse, I guess). I bought it at a bulk store in Canada. Just used a damp brush to wet the fondant, then pat them onto the bodice. Sorry for the grainy picture!

Wow, that is one beautiful train! The sugar crystals really do "make" it.
