Mini 3D Mater

Mini 3D Mater on Cake Central

Carved from a small loaf pan. Truck-BC (thick), towing riging-MMF, and tires-50/50 MMF/RBC (thanks for the tip Wendy) I love the combo. I made this with the Durable Cake for 3D and Wedding Cakes recipe here on CC... substituting the white cake/vanilla pudding combo with Swiss Chocolate cake and Fudge Chocoalte pudding. It was the best chocolate cake recipe I've ever tasted... extremely moist and delicious!

Wow great job! so cute & so detailed! Is he "towing" a "two"? Is that the age of the child?? Just precious!

:)Thanks everyone! Yeah, he's towing a 2.. Seth's age... I borrowed the idea from a cake I saw online (I think on CC), but couldn't find it again to give credit. :( Unfortunately when the cake got to the party one of the "helpful" guests decided they wanted it on the front of the cake over the mouth... :? Oh well.. it was a cute idea and I got my picture of it anyway. :)

The towing rigging was dried in pieces before assembling. The parts that were attached to the cake had MMF spikes on those ends. I used piping gel to "glue" the pieces together letting it set and get tacky for a few minutes before attaching each piece. The part where the rope was holding the weight of the crane I held in place for about 10 minutes until it was a little more stable. Then I let everything set and dry for about 15 minutes. I would suggest letting it dry for several hoursthough.
