A cake like this takes some effort to transport in one piece, so I divided it into two pieces. The bottom two tiers were carried separately with the dowels in place. The top two were placed at the hall and the bottom border added. I'm a man and it is so much easier to do it this way.
Nice job! I transported a 3 tiered cake (already put together) and was a nervous reck the whole time! It was doweled pretty well though.
I think it's beautiful...excellent job!
I think I struggled several times before I thought of separating the tiers for transit. It you've got three, transport the bottom separately. The top two together won't be as heavy as the bottom. Thanks for the compliment.
Beautiful cake! I usually transport mine put together also. my dh carries them.. I don't know a good way to stack on site and not have a mess.:)
Wow! Your cakes are awesome! Do you own your own bakery? They look like done by a professional cake decorator.
Used to own my own shop, but that was nearly 25 years ago. I now decorate cakes when I want to - not when I have to. LOL
