Birthday Cake Looks Like Cut Cake
11 inch round cake with a large serving cut out and placed on top of cake. Silver decorations are edible and purchased from a Greek grocery store. Greek lady educated me that these silver decorations are used on desserts at Greek funerals. Many other awesome shapes of these silver dragees. Swirly pink trim pattern applied with discontinued Wilton scrolls, then traced pattern with pink royal icing then painted scrolls with pearl luster dust mixed with lemon extract. Looks great! I searched high and low for the dragees locally here for Christmas. Finally found them at an Amish store. I didn't realize they were so hard to come by. I remember seeing them all the time when I was little.
What a pretty cake! I've seen dragees here in Kansas in a variety of sizes. Some so small I'd never be able to handle them. Great cake!! Love it!
How Beautiful! This is one cake that I want to try to duplicate. To pidge.....I'm a Texan, and I did find that only one mail order catalog refused to ship to Texas. I ordered several different sizes, just in case they decide we will die here if we eat one and stop shipping into the state...how stupid! :roll: Everyone LOVED my Christmas sugar cookies. I was so proud. The dragees were a big hit.
