Luau Birthday Cake
This was my daughter's 7th B-day cake. We had a Luau theme. Each tier is one layer of chocolate cake and one layer of French Vanilla with Bavarian Creme filling in both tiers. Covered with Buttercream icing and sprinkled with sanding sugar/brownulated combo. The Palm Tree is totally Gum Paste, the "lies" border is buttercream leaves and royal icing drop flowers. I also added gum paste rocks and buttercream grass around the base of the palm tree

Thank you, it was awesome! Actually got a standing ovation after carrying it out to the patio and placing it on the table. Was a bit worried about the palm tree since the leaves had to be glued to the trunk. I made 3 trunks and many leaves to allow for breakage (which one trunk did just that!).
