I wanted to tell everyone that I used my new Americolor dye for these. WHAT a miracle! It took about 1/2 the amount of food colouring I usually have to mix in!! Thanks to someone for their advice in the forum last month!!!
The secret to making it look pro is to use a bit thicker royal icing...like pancake batter consistency...and you don't need to do the outline/fill thing anymore. (It's impossible if the cookie is a really complicated shape...but hearts, circles, cakes, etc. work well.) Just outline and fill in one quick motion. Try it...it takes practice, but WELL worth the time you'll save!!!

oh i've been looking for tuxedos but they're all black with whtie vests (black if hard to do as you know) how long do you let the white base dry before doing the black-i hate it when it bleeds

Did you cover the entire cookie in white, let that dry and then come back with the black on top of the white?
