First Gumpaste Carnation And Tulip

First Gumpaste Carnation And Tulip on Cake Central

Here's the tulip and carnation from my gumpaste flowers class. I used the large carnation cutter to see how a bigger carnation would look. Worked great, but is it ever heavy! Had to use an extra wire to hold it up.

You must have had a good instructor because these look much better than other's I have seen from the Wilton classes. I really think what you learn depends on how good your instructor is.

On second thought, I am realizing these can't be Wilton because they are gumpaste, not fondant. And the detailed center of the tulip is not something Wilton teaches. So, where did you take your classes?

Shirley, it was actually a Wilton course, and we used the Wilton gumpaste flowers kit from Michaels. My instructor is excellent, and she was kind enough to let us know which flowers out of that book "didn't work." The tulip is straight from the book, but the carnation is the one (albeit I made it a big one) as taught in the Fondant & Gumpaste course. BTW, thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot coming from you, as your gumpaste flowers are absolutely incredible - you have such talent!
