Princess Castle
This is the first cake I have made in over 5 years! It is a butter cake with homemade buttercream, covered in wilton fondant. This was my first time using fondant and it was pretty tricky! I had tons of bumpiness. I have admired all of the cakes on this website and wished I had known of this site before I made this cake. I am hoping to start a business soon, so any critiques would be appreciated! This is my first post and I am thrilled to be among you fellow cakelovers!
It looks good from this angle!
ooopps as this is my first post I have forgotten to turn my picture!!! NEWBIE!
How did you do your turrets? Are they ice cream cones? What is underneath them? Sorry for all the questions.
This is adorable! I will be making a castle cake for my daughters 3rd birthday coming up and would love any pointers or instructions you could give! Can you email me with instructions? [email protected]
BEAUTIFUL JOB!!!!!!!
It's gorgeous. You did a wonderful job!
Thank you everyone! I made this for my little ones third birthday and she loved it! The turrets are paper towel tubes and ice cream cones that were covered in fondant. I painted them with a mixture of vodka and gel coloring to achieve a watercolor look. I had to rig the turrets with balls of fondant stuck to the layer below because they were too large to fit ! it was a trip it took me until 3:30 in the morning to decorate, but the look on DD's face was worth it!
My first cake disaster was a castle cake similar to this. You did a great job!

Great job
I think you did an excellant job. I, myself am very new to cake decorating and am just looking for ideas. This turned out great, expecially since you have decorating in 5 years. You are very talented. :D :D
