Summer Wedding Cake
this was a four tier (14, 12, 10, 8) chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling. Frosted in white buttercream with white fondant leaves, acorns, flowers, etc. I used the leaf veiners! hooray! I added black royal icing ants (per request of the bride!). I also made the vase on the top from sugar (sugar molding) and covered it in fondnat and then in coordinating fondant leaves. the flowers on top were matching from the brides bouquet.
one more thing... 100% humidity so my ants are melting! ack!
You did a great job but why in the world would anyone want it to look like they had ants on their wedding cake?? How did you make such tiny ants anyway?
it was a New Hampshire themed reception.. she liked the ants..outsoor reception... not sure she needed any help with ants outside though! lol they were very cute though. I just used black royal and made 1/4" lines and piped legs and dots for the body... kind of a pain...
