This is a cake I made today for a fund-raiser at my daughter's school. It is the most brightly colored cake I have ever made! But she loved it, sat by me, helping me mix colours. It had to match a picture provided. All I can say, is it is eye-catching.... Hope it makes some money for the school!

The kids were very happy with the cake and it made quite a bit of money for the school too. vixterfsu, your compliment is extra special, as you don't really like clowns! Greenhorn, for the face and the hat, I outlined with buttercream(slightly stiff) and then thinned down the same buttercream and flooded it. I used a toothpick to make sure the buttercream reached all the corners and was smooth. This had to be done quickly, before it began to dry. Karen

Thank you Hema, tugboat. A week later I made 40 cupcakes, and iced them in exactly the same way for the children in my daughter's class. They were so happy with them, as they did not get to taste the original cake.
