Course Iii Final Cake on Cake Central

I liked the roses that someone else in Britain posted a picture of and tried to pattern this cake after that. So thank you whoever you are!

Your roses are beautiful! Did you use the method they suggested in the book? Our instrucor didn't like that method because of the time it took, she showed us her "cheat" but I like yours much better!

It might take a lot longer than what my instructor showed me, but I'm going to try it. Any suggestions on how to get the edges so ruffled? By the way, I LOVE the color! I used to be a professional floral designer and they look like the lavender color that was called Sterling Silver. Beautiful!

"They are just made out of fondant." Ho hum!!! Come on.......THESE ARE SO PERFECT!! How did you get the petals so thin and have them dry without "wilting"?

I'm not sure what you mean by wilting, but I rolled them out really thin, almost too thin to work with. It's hard to work with something so delicate when your (my) big stupid fingers keep getting in the way. After rolling them out thin and cutting them out, I just used the ball tool on the edges. They tended to stick, which was frustrating. But thanks so much for all your kind comments! Please explain about wilting. I haven't worked with fondant enough to have experienced it. Thanks.

Very beautiful, Good for you for going the distance and getting the right look. By the way you can tamp the ball tool in a mix of 50/50 cornstartch and powder sugar to keep the fondant from sticking
