This is based on a cake from one of Colette Peters' books. She used tons of different sized silver dragees for the trim, but this was just an experiment for me and I didn't want to spend all that money, so I piped royal icing and painted it with silver luster. All of the fan shapes were cut from fondant using different flower cutters that Colette specifies in her instructions.
