This cake I did as a surprise grooms/birthday cake for my father's wedding. The cake is done in buttercream with a diamond impression mat. The tools are done with white chocolate. The "screwheads" on the side of the cake are done in fondant as well as the tool belt.
OMG! This cake is amazing! I love the idea and the excecution is flawless! Did you find chocolate molds for all the bolts and nuts and then 'paint' them silver? I just have to try this cake...is that ok? I am in awe and my handy husband would flip!
The nuts, bolts and tools are all done with a mold. I tinted the white chololate with a little bit of black candy color to make it grey and then dusted the candies with silver luster dust.
