Mack's Seussical Birthday Cake
We based this on a drawing in the Seuss book Yertle the Turtle....its supposed to be 9 turtles stacked high, we had 7...the bottom turtle's name in the book is Mack, my daughter's name is MacKenzie...so we thought it woudl be cute.
The turtles on top are white chocolate sprayed with blue wilton color mist...and the bottom turtle is cake with fondant pieced together mosaicly. THe letters are chocolate, I used a clay mold for them, and the cat tails are chocolate as well as the grass used just plain waxpp
okqay..so I think my only problem was that I made he chocolate far in advance, upwards of a week so I froze it, and even though it wasn't that hot in the house the chocoolate started to not stick together so the turtles on top and the cat tails ended up coming down, It was funfetti cake with strawberry pie filling....and vanilla frosting.
