Roses

Roses on Cake Central

I made this for Easter. I made it after completing wilton course 1. I self taught the basketweave and this was my 2nd attempt. I am a little better at it now after having taken course 2. It is all buttercream.

My husand gives me a dozen multi-color roses every year for Easter! Purple is royalty, he was born a king...yellow because he was our friend...white is for purity...and red is for the blood he shed for us. Roses because he "arose" from the grave. I just love the meaning behind that. And your cake is just gorgeous!!

This is so pretty! I can't believe you taught yourself to do such a perfect basketweave, and your roses are beautiful!

Wow, thought I loved your other one with all yellow flowers, but this one is even prettier (no offense to the work on the yellow rose cake). I love colorful things. To this day my hubby still teases me about how I absolutely refuse to use solid lights at Christmas time. Only multi-colored sets.

I love how classy the basketweave looks, I use it a lot myself, although I've never done a cake *this* nice with bastetweave before! :)
