Big Ben Clock Tower

Big Ben Clock Tower on Cake Central

It turned out ok. Wasn't really pleased. The top had a lean to it. The faces on all sides are traced onto rice paper with edible ink. All edible except support rods and cake circles (squares).

WOW!!!!! ya dun gud! real good! impressed...much more detail than I thought possible. The gold is an excellent touch (and as for the lean -- well give an old clock a break age=lean! ... seem to remember it leaning a bit last time I saw it in person -- wait, that was me!) BE VERY PROUD OF THIS!!!!

Thanks Doug, you were a great help with your advice. If I attempt it again I will know what to do different.

Wow, I can understand why you were upset, but what you did is nothing short of amazing. I know how that 'falling down' thing goes, but the clock face, texture on the sides and gold detailing is really great.

This cake was 23" tall the tower layers (5) are 5" x 5" x 4" sitting on a 10" x 2" base cake. It weighed 20 lbs. It took 5 hrs to sculpt the top (above clock face layer) from chocolate Satin Ice fondant then 6 hrs to pipe and paint royal icing. Thank you for all your kind compliments.

Thanks. I'm just about to start another one of these. Sometimes I think I'm a glutton for punishment!
