Cornelli Lace

Cornelli Lace on Cake Central

This is a cake I made to try and practice the cornelli lace. The lace part isn't quite right. I went from end to end and I don't think that's how it should have been done, but I think it turned out pretty. Any suggestions on what I need to do next time? I love this technique! It's a butter cake with chocolate buttercream filling, buttercream icing and cornelli lace.

It looks very beautiful the way you have it. The cornelli lace should just go in a continuous random pattern all over the cake. Just start in one spot and work in a small space at a time laying the lines in a squiggle pattern "over and under" it's self without overlapping or touching. Does that make sense? Maybe someone else can explain it simpler. BTW...beautiful pansies!!! :D

Thanks cakemommy for the info. I've got to perfect this technique because I absolutely love it. Guess I'll be eating a lot of cake in the near future. lol
