Rose

Rose on Cake Central

Trying to use choco fondant to mold roses. Not going to great. Can't figure out how to get them to keep their shape in order to dry. They keep drooping. Also, I don't really know what I am doing, just kind of playing around. Can someone give me some pointers?

It looks like the fondant may be too thick. Is there any way for you to thin it a little? I would let the petals dry for a while after you have formed them before forming the rose. I'm not an expert but I hope this helps.

When I used choco fondant I noticed it was WAY softer than regular fondant. Maybe you need to try and work in some more powdered sugar. If you can't work in any more sugar I suggest getting some candy cups. After you're done molding the rose stick the toothpick through the candy cup (wilton has some good sturdy foils ones) the cup helps to hold up the sides. It is beautiful though.
