Perfect Landings on Cake Central

A birthday cake I made for a coworker who is mad about planes. Double layer chocolate soaked in sweet grape wine filled with chocolate buttercream with ground glace cherries. Covered with a thin layer of choc buttercream and iced in fondant.

When the cake is hot poke it a good few times with a toothpick and sprinkle it with the wine and let it soak through. How much you use is just a personal preference. Using a clean bottle with a spray nozzle is ideal for this.
