Cupcake Experiement

Cupcake Experiement on Cake Central

Experiementing with a buttercream rose on a cupcake. Can anyone tell me why my paper cases always peel away from the cupcake itself.I have tried cheap brand vs bakery quality and cake mix vs scratch cake and it nearly always does it?

Wow, your rose is soooooo good! The bottom petals must have been real struggle with all that paper around, but you did excellent job! As for the paper. Do you grease the paper cases, or the muffin tray? That could be the reason.

no no greasing on the paper or tray...just put cases direct in the tray and then mix in the cases.

pretty rose! If you can't get the paper to stick try using the silver liners that look like foil, they are sturier and stand firm alone so you shouldn't have them flopping over on you even if the cake doesn't stick.

ok, lots of feedback from lots of people and groups and the main suggestions have been that the cases were not filled enough with batter and that they were overcooked which sometimes causes the cake to shrink and this case perhaps shrink away from the paper.... THANK YOU everyone for the kind words and suggestions. I am going to try again and will keep you all posted... I thought it was something to do with the fat content in the cake reacting with the thin paper cases.
