Mini Wedding Cakes
These are some of the mini cakes I made. The tier sizes are 3 1/2", 2 1/4", and 1". Covered in fondant - each decorated differently. The white one is MMF the other 3 are Wilton pre-colored. They are each setting on a 4" mirror for the base.
They look amazing!! I'd like to know the pan-size too!!
I cut them from a sheet cake - I made cardboard templates and cut around them. Thank you for the nice comments!
Those are awesome! What size are the layers? Sue
the bottom is 3 1/2", the middle is 2 1/4" and the top is about 1". The bottom is 2 layers and the other two are single layers. Yes - they are setting on 4" mirrors! That worked out great as the base. Thank you for the nice comments.
Those are the cutest little cakes! So tiny!
hi i havent never made any mini cakes but i,m wanting to make some for favors how do you make them do you make a sheet cake and then cut out with round cookie cutters? you done a great job love them
Yes, that is how you do them. Some folks freeze them to make it easier (I don't like to freeze cakes so mine were a little crumbly under the fondant!) I iced them in buttercream and then covered them in fondant (did each layer sperately) the colored ones are made with the Wilton fondant, the white one is made with homemade MMF. After getting the fondant on all of them I then went back and did the decorating. the mirrors they are setting on were .99 each at the craft store.
These are so cute.I have cut them using a deep cookie cutter much easier then cutting by hand.
Those look really pretty! You did a fantastic job.
Thank you. The mini cakes are always the ones that really get some attention! Thanks for the tip on the cookie cutters, I never thought of those!
They look great Quadcrew! Lovely~
Thank you!
they are so CUTE!!! I really like the pink one.
The pink and the white ones are my personal favorites - I was getting tired by the time I got to the green one!
Great cakes - I haven't seen Faygo Pop since I was a little girl! Brings back memories.
these are so cute; what was the event you made them for?
Those are adorable, did you put them on little mirrors? They look great!
