Mum And Son's Shared Birthday

Mum And Son's Shared Birthday on Cake Central

I made this cake not long after having started cake decorating and it's still one of my favorites. Pound cake decorated with fondant. I love all the colors and I always wonder what the two of them are talking about when I look at the pictures :)

bodaisy - I "stole" the idea from Debbie Brown. She has made a cake for Wallis and Gromit that uses the same chairs and carpet. I just thought the other things up with the information the father gave me. It was a great cake to make and they apparently took it round to all their friends for a week before they cut it - sweet hey!

thank you all - I don't recall it taking days. I think what I did was bake the cake and on the same day did the carpet. Then it was "just" covering the chairs and decorating and really I get a lot out of details, the bigger things are not always my favorite, though I will say I'm starting to lean towards less detail more style!

Thanks again - I love how you girls always manage to make my day ... Cande - I'm seriously looking into going into work with the biggest children's partyorganizer here in Calgary. It's not what I want to do forever - but she has a lot of seriously good contacts so it's a start ... when my kids are older I would love a boutique - it's a dream!
