Zen Garden
This was only my second cake with rolled fondant, and due to time constraints it turned out looking rather sloppy- but it was for my twin sister's birthday (and mine I guess lol) and she loved it. Everything is edible except the rake and the candles - the sand is raw sugar, which made the whole thing QUITE sweet! I've already figured out what to do differently next time, lol
this is great, nice to see a differant idea!
that is so cool, my older brother make this things for his shop. what a great idea...
well for one thing, I'd leave more time because well rushed just never works lol, the sloppy bits, mostly because I had run out of brown colour paste, so I had to spend half an hour mxing red and othre ones to get the border to look like wood- which it Didnt lol- and i would do a neater job of it- also I used raw sugar for the 'sand'- but that made the whole thing too sweet- I know about crushed graham wafers now though :)
Great idea!
Hey, I still like it. BTW, Happy Belated Birthday....I don't remember if I ever said so.
I love this cake!!! Can you tell me what you would do differently?
This was a great idea!
Where did you get the rake?? Awesome idea!!
Did you also make the rocks? HOW??? I know my husband will love this for his b-day!
The rake was part of a real zen garden that I bought at a gift shop. Now that I have more experience with planning and with MMF I think I would have made that also. The 'rocks' were jelly beans I found at a specialty jelly bean store.
