First Cowboy Hat

First Cowboy Hat on Cake Central

This is my first attempt at the Cowboy Hat. I used MMF and then brushed it with cocoa powder to give it a distressed look. I didn't get the fondant as smooth along the bottom as I would have liked, but practice makes perfect and hopefully I'll be doing this cake again. Thank you to all of you here for the inspiration, wonderful ideas and instructions on this forum. Hope you enjoy and any comments are welcomed.

for the brim, first I took an outline of my hat on paper and cut it out. then I rolled out my fondant and layed the pattern on it and cut it out. after that, i layed the cut piece on my hat-covered in plastic wrap-and let it sit for 2-3 days to dry. i hope this helps you.
