Really cute idea. Not as much work (and cost) as a cake, but still a wonderful way to recognize those special people. I'll have to keep this in mind for my kid's school too. I'm marking as a favorite. Thanks!!!!

someone just asked me for something similar today... a giant pink buttercream rose on a cupcake... like these without the leaves.... you have done a great job.. do you think it was any harder to make a jumbo rose than normal size and was it easier to make it directly onto the cupcakes?
No, it wasn't any harder to make a jumbo rose then a normal one, the only thing that was a little harder was trying to turn the cupcake as I went, it's bigger and takes up your whole hand almost, but I didn't have a flower nail big enough to make a rose this size on. Thanks again everyone :D

No, I just used the regular buttercream icing recipe, nothing special
