Lovely cake. How did you make the "sand"?

@jakesmummy Thank you.  I crushed tea biscuit cookies in a food processor.  I also brushed a light coat of corn syrup on the cake board so it can stick. 

Oh and the darker flecks are from chocolate biscotti. 

I would never have thought to do that, its fab!
