Heffalump

Heffalump on Cake Central

Made this for my third son's first birthday! His little party is tomorrow. I have some improvements I want to make for next time but for now I am okay with how it turned out! Its the 3D bear pan, modified only slightly.

I LOVE HIM!!!! Can you Please adopt me. I have always wanted a Lumpy cake but could never find a design that looked professional. My B-day is in 3 weeks and I will make him myself, I will be thrilled if it comes even close to yours.

Wow! This is impressive! Do you mind sharing all your modifications to create this look out of the bear pan? Also how were the ears created?

I pretty much just cut the ears and arms off the bear...just kept head, body, and feet. I used rolls of fondant on the front underneath to make the front legs, and the ears are just rolled fondant that I inserted toothpicks in before drying. I added Tylose to the fondant to speed drying, and put it on the oven rack for about an hour, and they were stiff enough to use.

Wow just love the cake. I've made a frog with the 3D bear pan, but would have NEVER guessed you could do that with it. Amazing!!!

The ears are just fondant/tylose powder with skewers dried into them and stuck into the cake. A little food marker accent too. Thanks all!
