This was an 80th birthday cake for a nature/squirrel lover! The cookie pops were actually meant to be inserted into the top tier, but, since the cake traveled from Baltimore to New Jersey in the back of the customer's car, I had to pack it all separately, and I wasn't there to set it up. All elements are made with gumpaste and 50/50, hand-painted. Squirrels and bunny and ladybugs are hand-molded. Bottom was devil's food, middle marble, and top vanilla. It brought the 'birthday girl' to tears, I was told. I worked every day for about a week on it, and I loved doing it since I love nature as well!
