Thomas The Train Birthday Cake With Moving Train!

I used gum paste for the lettering, and a mix of gum paste and fondant for the trees/bushes. I wish I could upload this cake with the train running on it - it totally makes it!

I'm going to try to make this cake, and was wondering if you could give me some details on how to make it?  Specifically, how did you make the train tunnel?  Is that fondant or something?

Do you know what size cake you used for the bottom layer?

Thanks,

Sorry for the late response.  I used a piece of aluminum venting from home depot and covered it with parchment paper on top to separate the cake from the metal. I think I used a 11x15 cake pan and then made a square, then used the other piece to form the top.  I covered all with buttercream and fondant. The grass and flowers are buttercream, then everything else, besides the figures, is fondant. I used spray green to color the fondant, then used a paper towel to dab on other greens to give it dimension.  I hope this helps!!!  Good luck!  I am glad you like it!
