I was tasked by a friend to create a first birthday cake based on a contemporary art painting of a ballerina on pointe from India with a bell anklet on. The colors were to be pink or gold. The shoes are completely gum paste hang molded. I tried to recreate the look of the bracelet on the bottom layer using sugar pearls that were painted with gold dust.
