Striped Armchair With Newspaper & Cat

I made this out of rich fruit cake. The seat of the chair was a whole 8 inch fruit cake, the arms of the chair was made from a 4 inch fruit cake cut in half, and the backrest of the arm chair was made from a square 4 inch fruit cake and a round 4 inch fruit cake. I cut the round in half and placed eitherside of the 4 inch square cake to make the backrest rounded at the corners. This cake was a replica of a friends favourite chair, so was the cat!!

I just made a little square out of sugarpaste, you could use marzipan if you like, then I cut out 2 squares of sugarpaste slightly larger so that it fits around the edges. Hope this helps!!!
