For my husband's aunt's 90th birthday. Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing. Roses made with all-shortening buttercream. I wish I had made them out of royal icing, as these were too heavy to attach to the sides. :-( I regret not taking the time to put a "dam" of icing in between the layers, which should have prevented the bulge there. Oh, well!
