Guys this is so easy it's embarrassing. You buy the Girolle ruffler from Sweet Celebrations. Buy the chocolare rounds separately, the chocolate has a hole in the center and slides down the spindle of the Girolle, and blade with a handle goes over the chocolate. Turn the handle and the chocolate rolls into ruffles.

Cigarellos are chocolate pushed into rolls that resemble a cigarette. I used to make them but they are so much work. Now I buy them pre-made from www.marquefoods.com

Thanks. It went for $200.00 tonight and 2 cake gift certicates went for $200.00 each, so I was able to add $600.00 to the centers funds. YAY!!

I'm so annoyed now, my hubby just came back from Switzerland on Friday. Darn, I could've asked him to pick up a Girolle for me so I could try to make this cake as beautifully as you have.

Thanks everyone, I am glad you like it. I would encouage all of you to try them and talk to Sugarplum Fairy and see if her husband is making another trip to Switzerland any time soon. :D

The cake is great, the $$$ are great, but I'd love to taste this cake, it looks deliciou as well as beautiful!

Thank you both. Kim, It was chocolate fudge, Kahlua Bavarian filling, iced in Sarah Bernhardt chocolate glaze.

I sure would like to say that in 2007, I took ShirleyW's cake decorating class! Anyone can turn the handle on the ruffler, but I'm sure many of us will have a hard time placing the ruffles on the cake. Things that sound easy never are! You are just amazing!

I need to invest in that Girolle Ruffler......This is a beautiful cake.......Still think you give too much create to that ruffler though, it takes a delicate hand to make such a beautiful cake. Looks Yummy!

Sorry to say that Marque Foods has stopped carrying the swiss chocolate roulettes for the Girolle ruffler. Two places that still carry them are Albert Uster, and Beryl's cake supply.
