I always use madiera cake for 3d cakes as it is a heavier cake to work with. I used 2 x 5" round cake pans for the widest part of the bottle, and 2/3 mini fairy cakes for the neck of the bottle. I covered the cake in 2 sections. First the bottom, then the neck of the bottle, now all you have to do is place the neck on top of the bottom part. I used petal paste to make a ribbon to cover the join around the neck.
