This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy cake. I had a bride choose one for a wedding in June so I thought I should get some practice in and make the mistakes on my cake not hers.
OK.....how did you support the layers so you could stick the daisies underneath? I saw a wedge somewhere and for the life of me can't find it again. Have an opportunity to do this and need to use this technique instead of carving the cake....HELP!
To support the cake I used wooden dowels on one end of the two layers and there is a wooden dowel through the center if teh whole cake for support. The daisies are silks I had from a spring display last year. I didn't have time to make gumpaste. I was more worried about my cake actually being a tip over cake I wanted to make sure I knew how to stack before the real wedding.
