A little 7" cake for a baby shower with a chevron and bird theme. The fondant topper was modeled on a pair of antique children's boots that will be in the new baby's bedroom.

I used the chevron tutorial from Jessicakes blog, but forgot to add an inch to the circumference, so I ended up with a gap at the back. Luckily, I'd been asked for pom poms if possible, so used them to hide the join.

I forgot to add the 'baby' plaque and the birds' wings before I took the photo. Doh.
