Peregrine Falcon

Peregrine Falcon on Cake Central

This mom always challenges my creativity haha...last year her animal loving son wanted a cheetah...this year a falcon which is his favorite animal. This cake has an inch wide dowel and a small platform to support the fattest part of the falcon.

Holy Moly!! If this wasn't a cake website, I would have thought that was a real bird! Outstanding job! Extremely realistic!!

Its just that the large dowel screwed to the board with the small platform is attached to the board off center...so its basically centered in the bird and then the stump is off to the side of the dowel. Thanks all!

Incredible ...... stunning cake .... never in a million years could I create something as amazing as that!!

I just cut them out using the Wilton fondant leaf cutters (the pack of three metal ones) and then creased a vein down the middle and slapped them on rounded side down. Then I just used airbrush colors and a paintbrush to dab the color on, I didn't do it real slow since its an animal and it can be uneven, so I just went around blotting paint here and there.

Yes I did stack then carve...and the entire head is made of fondant and the beak is just molded right into it. Thanks!

I love your cake, It is amazing, I will like to try to do something like this but I have a few questions. For the bird did you stack the cake and then carve it? And how do you hold the beak from falling, how did you shape it? Thanks.

This cake is absolutely amazing. It is so life like and the details are perfect. I would love some advice from you because you definately have mastered the bird cake and I have to make an eagle cake for my ten year reunion in 2 weaks. If you have any pointers to give I would love to hear them. Great job on your cake-You are a true talent :D

I am a wildlife biologist. I have also worked with a falconer. So I know birds. And I can tell you that this is one of the most beautiful and realistic looking cakes I have ever seen. You are SO talented. I am just totally amazed at the creativity that went into this. It is really beautiful!
