Monarch Butterfly Valentine Heart Cup Cakes
My dtr asked me to do something for her school vday party, so I started on some cup cakes. The first ones were fondant butterfly's, then my rice paper came in the mail the next day, so I made these ones. The butterfly's are drawn on rice paper using edible food markers. They came out MUCH better than I had hoped for. MMF hearts used for a base since there was no liner to separate the cupcakes (and I didn't want them sliding into each other). Thank you for all the feedback while I was designing these!
those are awesome, bet your daughter made some new friends with those LOL they're beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Thanks. It was pretty funny. I made snowmen cookies at christmas, so the kids told my dtr when they were planning this party "Your mom makes awesome treats, can she make something P-L-E-A-S-E.... LOL. So I guess I've been exposed as the pastry mom.
Those are awesome!
They are very cute! The pink and green are perfect shades, and the butterflies are perfect!
Great outstanding work.... I really love the green piping it works better than I would have thought
Thanks. I was hesitant w/the mint green too, but it blended well. I was going to frost them smooth, but when I went to put the frosting on, it looked good that way (I just used a bag w/the end snipped off-no tip). So I did them all that way.
These are unbelievable! All your cakes are so creative...True Perfection!!!!!
LOL. You are to kind. Thank you! I don't post the disasters! :D
Very pretty work Shelia!!
They look amazing!! I wish I was in your daughters class!
OMG I can't believe how awesome your cakes are. I absolutely love these. How did you find the rice paper to work with?
Thanks. I actually ordered the rice paper online. I got way more than I'll probably ever be able to use, but it was worth it to be able to practice on these. I'm planning on using a few on my dtr's upcoming bday cake this month too.
Sheila, your work is beautiful; love the butterflies.
Very, very pretty!!! love your butterfiles great job :top hat:
Thanks. I'm loving the way they are coming out on my current ones (with both sides of the wings colored). I'll be using those on my older dtr's "Tink" cake next month.
