I wanted to make a cake for my boyfriend's uncle's 89th birthday, and he really likes the Red Sox. So, I whipped this cake up for him. This is an 8-inch round cake covered in buttercream. To make the hat, I just used half of the sports ball pan and decorated it with fondant to make it look like a hat. For a quick cake, I don't think it turned out too bad.
