Butterfly Cupcakes on Cake Central

The butterflies on the cupcakes are made with rice paper and printed on my Cannon IP 3000 printer with food coloring cartridges.

It is real grass. The Mother is a big Martha Stewart fan and saw this in a magazine. Something to remember for a great presentation!

Where did you find the gorgeous butterfly images? (Online? CD? Made yourself?) After they were printed did you just cut them out with scissors? They are beautiful!! What did you use for the body?

I went to the internet and copied images of real butterflies. The body is BC. I use rice paper with a very thin spread of gel on both sides. I sprinkle them with luster and let them hang to dry. When they are dry but not brittle I cut them out as individual wings and stick them into the body. I love putting them on everything. Thanks for the kind words.
