This cake was a "Wacky Cake", made with no eggs and butter (the only butter was in the buttercream). According to the site I got the recipe from, his cake was created in the Great Depression when eggs and butter were expensive and rationed. I tell you, this cake was AMAZING! It is my new scratch-choc cake! Super moist, light and fluffy!
The centre was tinned caramel and the buttercream was a mocha coffee buttercream made from the All American Buttercream recipe on this site (with added coffee of course).
It was supposed to be a Rose cake design, but I didnt have the right piping tip, so I improvised lol
