Ivory Shimmer

My first wedding cake and only the second time making wired sprays, so I had many sleepless nights. It also had to be transported 250 miles but all components arrived safely. The cake was for the wedding of my nephew and his fiancee and was a rich chocolate bottom tier with white and dark chocolate ganache and a zingy lemon cake for the top tier. Both tasted lovely and the chef at the venue said they cut beautifully so I was very pleased. The brief was for ivory roses to match the bridal bouquet, shiny fondant and some "bling". I thought I would try making some cattleya orchids and filler flowers which worked out well. I used pearl beading instead of diamante as I thought it complemented the more traditional style of the cake. TFL.
