Birthday cake for my mom. Her favorite dessert is a banana split and her favorite flower is a yellow rose. For those of you who haven't tried the Americolor electric colors - a little goes a looooong way, and there's no adverse taste! Five layers of yellow cake with everything I could think of that might go into a banana split - fudge and pecans; strawberries and bananas; caramel and pecans; pineapple and bananas; all covered in good old buttercream. I think next time I might try a ganache or something a little lighter. The buttercream was very heavy on top of everything else. Anyway, it was really fun and mom was tickled!
