This cake was for my neighbor's surprise 50th birthday party. He was born on Halloween and loves the fun of the day, so we tried to fit the holiday theme into his bday cake. Since 50 was "OLD" I was told, I used that on top instead of "RIP." Didn't want the man to think we really wished him dead! This cake is 12" (at the widest point) by 18" long, and almost 8 inches tall. The bottom two layers are chocolate, and the top two layers were french vanilla, all filled with strawberry cream filling. I used a cake board inbetween the cake flavors not only for support, but also for ease in cutting as the flavors were separated and then cut (there were some guests allergic to chocolate!! poor things). B/C frosting underneath MMF. All decorations were hand made from MMF, except the hands and the spider. Was going to make those out of chocolate, but ran out of time. Hope this is as fun to look at as it was to put together! TFL!!!
