And Now For Something Completely Different... on Cake Central

This cake was not supposed to be anything like this at all. I had made a fantastic Santa colorflow and crazy question marks for a Secret Santa Party. The colorflows broke and so that plan had to be scrapped. I wanted something more colorful - hence the plate that does not match *this* cake. It's Bailey's buttercream with mac. nuts and toffee on a yellow cake. What did I learn? The next time I make a cake with alcohol in the frosting I will NOT be pregnant so that I can enjoy a drink while dec'ing!

It does look great. Do you just add the bailey's instead of vanilla? I just bought some yesterday and that sounds so yummy!

Stogz - I used the basic Wilton's buttercream recipe and replaced the water and flavoring with Bailey's. Then I just kept on adding as I wanted a thin consistency. The taste was good but this was the hardest frosting ever to smooth (notice that it's not smooth on sides, etc.). I don't know if the Bailey's made it more sticky or if the humidity yesterday was the cause. It was all gone at the party's end, so it must have tasted ok!
