AWESOME!!!!! How did you get the lid on the box top to be so even?? I'd love to know. I have a quilt pattern press for the sides of cake that you used on this one. It's just a sheet type thing that you press up against the cake to get the same effect that you did with this one. I'd love to know how you got the top to look like you did!

I rolled a semi square piece of fondant, placed on top and then eyeballed the lid; I mean I used a pizza cutter and just went cutting off on each side, making sure it was even on all sides. ;-)

Beautiful bow! I assume you dried each piece seperately. Did you wrap the middle part when you put it on the cake?

Thank you girls. I had so much fun making this one...I actually added a "Happy Anniversary" tag made out of gumpaste, but it was after I took the picture

Godiva, your user name should be Cakediva, that cake is just so delicate and elegant. I like your style.

I got feedback from my friend. She said the husband seriously did not want to cut into it. It took his daughters to convince him that there was a perishable cake inside that had to be eaten! Pretty cool ;-0

It's a small roller that leaves a silk fabric like texture. You can get it through Nicholas Lodge's website.

No...you just cut it close to the base of the cake. I like to run the pizza cutter or my exacto blade right under it to make sure I get a crisp and clean cut.

The pale colors that you used and the classic lines that you used are truly, truly beautiful. The only thing I could add is, I wish it were my creation! ;-D You have set the bar for a well-thought design. I love it!!!!!!!!!

How did you dry the bow? Did you hang it on a dowl or?? Also I need to make a 10" gift box. Please can you tell me the quick basics on length of each piece before putting it together. I want the bow to be big on the top of the cake like yours. Not a little after thought
