I was asked to make a pink, girlie, princess cake for a friend's daughter. I had just been looking at the royal icing tiaras and really wanted to try to make one, the same day they asked me about this cake, so it was perfect! My first attempt was a disaster (yeah Texas humidity!) I ended up doing the tiara in 3 layers of icing letting each set and dry for at least 6 hours. Then the whole tiara dried for another 48 hours, I was not taking any chances. I think I like the look of them white, maybe with some pearly luster dust, but for a 5 year old this was perfect too!
