Thanks for all the great comments this was actually my first cake since doing a cake decorating course. The flowers were a sculptured blossom made by rolling sugar paste really thin and using a blossom cutter and veiner, which I purchased from www.earlcraftncake.com.au they also sell on ebay under cake decorating (australia) hope this helps. I was really pleased with the end result...and it tasted yummy as well. Thanks again :D

If you are in america i think they call it gum paste??? I have a good sugar paste recipe I will post for you it keeps in fridge for a week or two or freezer for longer I just get it out and place it between two warmed wheat bags until i am ready to use it hope this helps. I made aprox 340 flowers of different sizes for this cake but had plenty left over to maybe use on another cake as they keep in an airtight container for a long time.Butterflys were made using a dogwood or 4 petal cutter & royal icing :D

Hi, Thanks :D The flowers(over 300 but did not use all of them) took me 6 hours over 3 days(When the kids were sleeping)but i foung it relaxing. The cake took the normal amount of time. The cake is on a normal cake board covered in the same fondant I used to cover the cake then the same color ribbon wrapped around the board to cover the edge...easy!

This is really, really pretty. I love the way you have done the flowers with a lot on top and then less and less coming down the cake. (Sorry, could have expressed that a little better!) :)
