Tower Of 400 Mini Cupcakes

Tower Of 400 Mini Cupcakes on Cake Central

What a lot of work! Yikes!!

Mini vanilla cupcakes with handmade pink gumpaste flowers with edible pearl centres & mini chocolate cupcakes with piped chocolate hearts.

Had to make 850 individual petals to create the pink flowers. My hand will never be the same again!!

Which kind of recipe do you find is best for these mini cakes? A fluffy mix or a pound-cake type? Also too, have you done deluxe flavors, such as banana or carrot?

I use a spongecake recipe, but I've also done banana cake...never carrot cake yet! I must say, a poundcake would be easier to ice...but I've never been asked for it.

These are very nice! You should be very proud of this! I've done cupcake weddings before and I agree that it isn't so much the cupcakes themselves that take a lot of time, it's the decorating! Great job! I'm sure they were pleased with this!

They just dropped the stand back to my studio and were VERY happy!! Yeah!! I charge 75 cents for the mini cupcake with the buttercream swirl and 25 to 50 cents for the top decoration.

How many hours would you say you put into this Tower? One would think that making cupcakes is a piece of cake, which probably is, however, the details I am sure are very time consuming. A major task indeed. I always enjoy looking at your work...Everything that comes out of your kitchen is a pleasure to the eyes. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! Oh, I should add that I could only fit about 300 on this stand...the rest are waiting in the fridge at the venue! hahaha

I made 8 lbs. of Martha's Italian Meringue Buttercream which took me 1.5 hours, the cupcakes themselves only took about 4 hours to bake 400 from scratch, but cutting/assembling/piping the stupid decorations took about 8 hours!!!

How cute. The matching cookies were great also. Thank you for your cookie inst. and recipe. For the first time my cookies turned out pretty and tasty. BTW do you charge the same PP for cupcakes as you do full cake?
